meen mulakittathu


Fish       1 kg
Small Onion     20 nos.
Tomato          1 no.
Ginger              1 piece
Garlic                10
Green Chilly        3 nos.
Fenugreek seeds(uluva)  1 tsp.
pepper corns             1 tsp.
Chilly powder (kashmiri chilly powder is best)   2tbsp.
Turmeric powder                  1 tsp.
valan puli                   1 nellikka shape (dipped in water)
Oil                                   2 tbsp.
Curry Leaves 

Before starting preparation chilly powder and turmeric powder keep in a bowl with little water to make a paste of that.
Method of preparation:
Heat oil in a pot (clay pot) and splutter uluva, then add Curry leaves and chopped onion and saute well until it became transparent. Add crushed items ( pepper corn, green chilly, ginger and garlic should be crushed by a mixer) and saute well.Then add tomato pieces and again saute well until it became mashed.  Paste of chilly and turmeric powder add to this mixture and saute well until goes its raw smell . After all these add paste of puli in to this and let it to boil. Boil it until the oil is separated above the curry, then add fish pieces and add if extra water is required and allow it to boil. The pot should be covered with a lid until the curry ready.
